The 28th Invitational Billfish Tournament, Pelican Yacht Club, Ft. Pierce, Florida kicked off Wednesday. 42 boats have entered. The tournament format is four days to fish three. With the weather good one would guess all are fishing the blue water Wednesday. This is a catch and release tournament. Dead baits only, such as ballyhoo, will be trolled. Each boat will be manned with an official to make the call as to the type of billfish caught and when the leader is touched. It is an official catch when the leader is touched. Catches are radioed to the tournament boat.

In the short time DeathRattleSports has been available for public consumption our contributors have proven something that we knew was true; there are a variety of talented writers who can succeed on their own with a push in the right direction.

As some of you know, we’ve been working hard to get our shared revenue system in place, available to our team managers and contributors. We will soon provide full tutorials, tips and advice on how to best utilize the web for entertainment, exposure and monetary gain.

After reading Bugeatersteve's article about the current Vick situation it got me thinking. It got me thinking about how our much our societies attitudes, or much of the mainstream society, has changed in the brief 26 years I've been dragging around. The fact is, we (collectively, everyone) do things worse than dogfighting, or just as bad, for purposes of food on a daily basis.

Now, don't worry, this is not PETA story. I eat meat, yada, yada, yada. Really, I just wanted to show you an old clip I just ran into featuring Jimmy Stewart on the Johnny Carson show that I had not seen since I was probably about 12 years old. I'm saying 12 because I don't know how old I was and the age of 12 is a good age to start any story (or half-ass blog entry that is nothing more than glorified rambling). Not many things stick in my head, especially the 12 year old version of myslef probably only worried about washing down the Laffy Taffy with a healthy gulp of Pepsi during commercial break of the television show I'd be watching 2 feet away because I did not yet realize I needed glasses. Mmmmmm, candy...sugar...tv...entertainment....ADD.

Here is a list of what teams are "spoken for" thus far.  This means members receive shared revenue (50% of all profits except betus.com, which is 100%) for that particular team and have rights to manage media and edit content. Eventually we'd like one member (or more) for every team,  so if a team is spoken for you want to manage let us know and we'll work something out.
