McGuffie's injury plagued senior season may have slowed the media hype, but not the high expectations. He's the best white tailbacl prospect since Scott Lockwood came out of the Colorado prep ranks and started as a freshman in the Rose Bowl for USC. Physique wise, he's ripped up and does not to put on a few pounds.

Sam could be the next Barry Sanders. - Cy Fair Forever

Yeah, this kid is definitely something to behold. A truly special back that has the ability to write his name all over the Michigan history books. His quickness is something that few backs in the last 10 years have had! - brian

OSU never offered him. You can't have a shot with anyone if you don't offer. - JEH45

Whenever you can in drop a Craig James reference, it's a quality post.

So who is going to be McDuffie's Erick Dickerson?

Yea, I have been around the Houston area for 30 plus years and IMHO MCGuffie is the best "white" running back from this area since Craig James back in 1978. Which was also the same year that a back from just outside the Houston area made his mark, and they both wound up going to the same college, SMU. That back? A guy by the name of Eric Dickerson.... - Bugeatersteve

Here's hoping this one doesn't bite the Buckeyes in the butt. Based upon what I have read, it appears to me that McGuffie did not receive an offer from the Bucks because of a one running back promise made to DeVoe Torrence. I don't know about McGuffie adding a bunch of weight. The pictures I've seen show him with muscle upon muscle at this time. - JEH45

A huge get for Michigan and I'll be interested to see how they use him.

He always looked like a typical Michigan type of guy and no, that's not a compliment. - Lloyds Apple
