What we did find is an affidavit by Larry Aschebrook that has been released. This affidavit is not a part of the litigation, but is certainly a part of the story. You will recall at about the time Rodriguez bolted from West Virginia to Michigan the shit seriously hit the fan. You will further recall that Rodriguez took Calvin Magee with him to Michigan from West Virginia as Michigan's new offensive coordinator. Subsequent to Magee's hiring at Michigan, Magee publically accused West Virginia of racism because either they didn't hire him as the head coach or consider him for the position.

Now the affidavit of Larry Aschebrook has been released and we found it reported in the Daily Mail and linked below. Multiple things can be said about the affidavit but I guess you have you start with his complete denial of the accusations. The affidavit discusses how Magee picked a date for when the supposed racist remarks were made, subsequently changing the date, with Aschebrook swearing he wasn't in Morgantown on either of those dates. It kindof makes one think of Hillary dodging bullets in Bosnia. Also fascinating in the affidavit is Aschebrook's recitation of a phone call he had with Rodriguez and Magee wherein among other things he claims Rodriguez offered him a job at Michigan-payoff anyone?

Further interesting to us is the reference in the affidavit about Chuck Finder of the Pittsburg Post Gazette. Again, if you have followed the story you will recognize Finder has written multiple pro Rodriguez stories since the breakup. Again, reading the affidavit-so much for the non biased media.

We find the affidavit fascinating because it provides us on the outside a glimpse of the behind the scenes stuff. A brief snapshot of the characters involved.

I swear this gets more and more sad, errr, I mean interesting. I'm a defender of Rod's coaching skills but everything else seems to come with baggage.
