{mosimage}A year ago at this time we were loading up the motor home and heading to the stadium at Glendale. Little did I know then that I was starting a day that was going to be my own living hell. I don't remember when I got into my bed the night after the Debacle in the Desert here in South Florida, but I was sure happy to get my ass home.
Well here we are a year later and here we go again. Last year I approached the game with a quiet confidence because I believed my team had the "big game" QB, and the "big game" coach. Boy was I wrong. As fans we all approach the season with our own prejudiced viewpoints. The Bucks had been seriously raided by the NFL. Troy Smith was gone. Now the season has one game left and the Buckeyes find themselves underdogs in a hostile environment in the big dance again. My predictions? I believe if the Bucks play LSU 10 times LSU wins the majority. Tonight? Shit, I don't know. I relish the underdog role. I believe redemption to be a serious motivator. I have confidence in our coach. I believe Les Miles is capable of pulling a bonehead stunt that can either leave him smelling like a rose or a piece of crap. As an aside with my editorial comment I think much more of Coach Miles than I previously did as he actually cares for his team, school and fans as opposed to some of the other post season coaching displays we've seen. I do not believe the Buckeyes can win by pounding the ball from the git go. They may be able to win by pounding the ball in the second half. If LSU is able to pound the ball, which they might be able to do, then this game is over. Each team has the ability to win the game with special teams. I for one will hold my breath when OSU kicks off. I'm not sure either Qb has to win the game for their team, but do believe each QB has the ability to lose the game for their team. Neither team can allow the opposing Qb to sit back and take their time allowing the pass routes to develop. Pressure is key, as is controlling the opposing teams ground game. This is a home game for LSU and I think I may like that. Helps the whole underdog mentality thing. Pundits. They suck and have sucked all year long. You will hear opinions today from people who at one point in time had USF, Kansas, and Oklahoma as #1. I always thought weathermen had it made as they draw their pay regardless of whether or not they are right, but this year college pundits rival the weather guys for being wrong. If I was them, I would be embarrassed. I do find it weird to be on the cusp with the national championship game and not really know how good my team is. The pundits are correct in criticizing the OSU schedule, but I guess I ask too much that the Bucks get any credit for playing Texas the last two years and starting a home and away series with USC next year. It is not the fault of the Buckeyes that when they played Michigan the Wolves were hurting. Nor is it the Buckeyes fault the rest of the Big Ten is ho hum. My bottom line is I do not know how good the Bucks are, but expect to find out tonight. And...... I will add, after tonight's game I will listen to zero crap about whether or not the winner of tonights game is the national champion. I, nor the Bucks or LSU, invented this system. I think the bastards(ie powers to be) believe controversy is great for the game. It is a shame that the coaches, players, and fans are denied a playoff system that would allow players as opposed to voters, decide who the "champion" is. Be that as it may the national champion will be crowned this evening. My prediction from the heart-Bucks by 10. Go Bucks!!
