Well I can't remember who it was, but one of us "expert writers" went back and actually checked their pre-season NCAA college football top 25 predictions to how they actually finshed up prior to the bowl games. I tried my best to "cover my ass" in my original article back in August by stating up front that "I do suck at picking", so I don't feel too bad in now going back and reviewing exactly what I did do.
Well I have to say that "after further review" I really don't think that I did that bad. I actually had 5 of the top 10 and 16 of the 25, which is 64%. My best pick? Well that would be LSU, who I selected as my #2, and low and behold, that is where they currently are. My other 4 top 10 (my pick in parthesis) were, USC (#1), Florida (#4), Ohio State (#6), and Oklahoma (#7). I just missed out on West Virginia who is 11th (#9). My top 25 picks that made it were, Texas (#5), Wisconsin (#8), Virginia Tech (#11), Auburn (#12), Boise State (#13), Georgia (#14), Arkansas (#15), Boston College (#19), Hawaii (#21) and Tennessee (#22). Now where did I totally BOMB OUT. That's an easy one. Louisville (#3), Michigan (#10), Nebraska (#17), and California (#18). The surprises that never showed up on my radar were Missouri (Finished #7), Kansas (Finished #8) and Illinois (Finished #13). I don't know if anyone else has looked at how they did, but I really don't feel too bad for my first time predicting the Top 25.
