{mosimage} Much like college football as a whole, the Heisman watch has been anything but predictable. Last week me and every other sports dope announced Dennis Dixon as the favorite, but now he has a blown ACL and it looks like he'll fall short. My top candidates right now, in order: If there was ever a season where a sophomore QB on a 3 loss team wins the Heisman it is this year. Tim Tebow has 749 rushing yards, 2,871 passing yards and 26 tds. That is crazy. If UF beats FSU this weekend, the trophy is likely his....maybe. Chase Daniel has 3,690 yards and 33 touchdowns, along with 252 yards rushing. If Missouri beats Kansas and with the Big 12 championship game, the trophy is likely his...maybe. RB Darren McFadden has 1,518 yards and 12 touchdowns running the ball. He finished second in the voting last year and an upset win and over 150 yards rushing against #1 LSU could be what he needs to become the next Heisman winner. That is a tough task but if he accomplishes this the trophy is his....maybe. QB Pat White leads the West Virginia Mountaineers and will have over 1000 yards rushing and close to 2000 yards passing by season's end. While I think he is behind the previously mentioned "maybe" candidates, he still has a shot. QB Todd Reesing from Kansas is the last viable candidate. He has almost 3000 yards passing and 30 tds on the year. His chances of winning rely on, you guessed it, winning the Big 12 and finishing strong personally. Still an outside shot QB Colt Brennan, if not for his recent injury, would be in the top 5. His numbers are sick, but his competition is week and missed playing time in big games could cost him. QB Matt Ryan has a flair for drama and has posted great numbers. Too bad for him Boston College has stumbled late because he could have won it.
WR freshman Michael Crabtree is sick good. His 125 receptions for 1,861 yards and 21 touchdowns is off the charts. It should not be possible. He should get an invite on principle alone, but he'll have to wait to win it.
