Ah, we have now reached the "nut-cutting" time of the season, when the pussies are separated from the men in regards to the bottom 5 rankings. So far pre-season favorites such as Florida International and Utah State have been strong and not disappointed us, like pretenders such as Rice and Nebraska have. There is one "on the fence" game this week Notre Dame is facing the Dukies for a final spot on my bottom 5 going to the LOSER! Now I will entertain acually posting a BOTTOM 10 for the very final poll if the readers of this BORING acticle are interested. So if you want to see an entire bottom 5 rankings post your comments this week. Now on with the count-down! Number 5 - Notre Dame "Crying Irish" Well they have done it now, they have guaranteed the worse record in their storied history with their 9th loss of the season after falling to Air Force. They now will battle for a permanent Bottom 5 spot for this season as they will face 1-9 Duke at home this Saturday. Number 4 - Idaho "scandals" At 1 - 9 there aren't many positive things going on in the Idaho camp. They lost their coach, Dennis Erickson, to Arizona State, where he immediately turned the Sun Devils back into a Pac-10 contender. The Vandals' only win this season is against a formerly-known-as-I-AA team, Cal Poly. The closest they've come against any other team is a seven-point loss to Northern Illinois who just dropped out of my bottom 5 rankings. Next loss will be Saturday against Boise State. Number 3 - Minnesota "rodents" - Lost Saturday to Iowa 21-16 a real nail-bitter to remain in contention for the National "Loser" championship. Now at 1-10 and heading for a match-up against Wisconsin in their season finale. Number 2 - Utah State "maggies" Lost to Boise State 52 - 0 to become the first 0-10 team this season. Next loss will be this Saturday against New Mexico State on Saturday. Number 1 - Florida International "yellow cats" - For the 5th straight week the "cats" have been the worst of the worst. They had a bye week this past week so that they can attempt to stretch their streak to 23 straight and cemented their ranking as number 1 against conference foe Louisiana-International. Their Next loss will be to Louisiana-International Saturday. Dropping out Northern Illinois Huskies. See you next week...
