{mosimage} In a twist that will surely rock the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, the identity of Mike Hart's little brother is revealed in the form of Chris "Beanie" Wells. We scored an exclusive interview with Hart on this issue and explore his imagination.
I arrived in Ann Arbor and went directly to Mike Harts apartment. He told us he had the day to chill and tell us about The Game and what he's been up to. The apartment had many interesting decorations I noticed and asked about, including a framed picture of John Cooper, a framed picture of Jim Tressel with crayon imprinted devil horns coming out of his head and a heart-shaped frame with Lloyd Carr's picture in it. "Yeah, Coach Carr gave me those after I committed to play for Michigan. I paid for the frames and sent them to him, so it was not a recruiting violation or nothing. Those are the pics he put in them. The one of Cooper is a friendly reminder of how he dominated the rivalry. The one of Tressel was something we drew together on my official visit. I mean, you've seen the movie Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. Art can bring people really close together. Then the framed picture of himself, well, that's just something special he gave me. He told me he has not done anything that special for anyone since Charles Woodson won the Heisman." I then gazed around and saw he had a video game, NCAA '05, on pause. "Cool you like to go old school", I said. Hart explained, "Well, yeah, I've been injured so I've had a little more time to play around. So I went back and played every game since I was a freshman. Check it out dude, we are 3-0 vs. Ohio State!" He then went to the roster to show me other fun facts. "As you see, I've run for extra 1,000 yards total up to this point because I've never been injured. I'm a lock for the Heisman, my second overall." Below Mike Hart on the RB depth chart was none other than Chris "Beanie" Wells. I asked what that was all about. "Well, you know Beanie grew up a fan of the Michigan Wolverines. Everybody makes mistakes and what not, so I've forgiven him for his mistakes. I figured why not have him go to the school he was meant to play at. He's been real cool about being the 2nd string 'back and allowing me to break all sorts of records. He is like a little brother to me. I mean, in this game and probably in real life too. He just looks up to me and we get better from working with each other. It kind of sucks for him that I'm always healthy despite running the ball 45 times a game, but he understands his role as 'lil bro." Wow Mike, you sure do have a lively imagination. "Well yeah, Coach Carr says I'm dreamy, I mean uhhh, a dreamer. But really I just like to think about how things should have been, ya know, had Beanie followed his dream to play for UM and be like a little brother to me." When do you plan on playing the final game of the season? "Well, probably once you leave because I also want to finish out my 'lil brothers career. He deserves that much respect. I've got the gameplay setting to easy for the OSU game. I'm going to clobber them by 50, maybe more!" Well, good luck Mike for the OSU game. "Dude, the gameplay is set to easy, they are fucking dead. I guarantee a victory." I mean the real game. "Oh yeah, huh. Well...thanks?"
