{mosimage}There are definitely some good games on the horizon for week
9 in the NFL, but there's only one game that will get everyone's
attention. The Patriots will take their unbeaten record to Indy to face
the defending Super Bowl champion Colts who also have a perfect record.
Find out who I pick to win this one. Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions To me, the Broncos seem to be better than their 3-4 record while it's still a surprise that the Lions are 5-2 and in the hunt for a playoff berth and a crack at the NFC North divisional title. Detroit has an explosive offense, but I am not yet convinced they match up well against a quality opponent. PICK: BroncosSan Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons The Niners and the Falcons have a combined record of 3-11 this season. You can contribute inconsistent QB play and bad defense to that stat. However, San Francisco doesn't have the internal problems like the Falcons are dealing with and Alex Smith is better than Joey Harrington any day of the week. PICK: 49ersCincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills J.P Losman will be back under center after Trent Edward succumbed to injury last week. That's not good for the lowly Bills who will host the Bengals on Sunday. Now I know that Cincinnati isn't a top flight team either, but I'll take my chances with Carson Palmer in this one. PICK: BengalsCarolina Panthers at Tennessee Titans It's the Vince Bowl, well sort of. 100 year old Vinny Testeverde and the Panthers will travel to Tennessee to battle 24 year old Vince Young and the Titans. If Carolina still had Jake Delhomme in the line-up, it would be harder to choose a winner in this one. PICK: TitansGreen Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs The resurgent Brett Farve and his Packers are on their way to the playoffs this season while the Chiefs will desperately try to hold on to lead in the AFC West. The Packers did the Chiefs a favor when they beat the Broncos in OT Monday night. On Sunday, there won't be any mercy shown by the Cheese heads. PICK: PackersSan Diego Chargers at Minnesota Vikings The Chargers seem to have found the electricity that they had last season while the Vikes haven't yet found out how to take full control of the talents of rookie phenomenon Adrian Peterson. It may get pretty ugly in Minneapolis. PICK: ChargersJacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints Quinn Gray is now the QB for the Jags while David Garrard nurses an ankle injury. The Saints have won three straight and look to make it four at home. It will be a tough one for N.O., but I think the home field advantage will be the key. PICK: SaintsWashington Redskins at New York Jets The Skins got embarrassed at New England last week. That's what happens when your team has absolutely no offense. However, the Jets are just what the doctor ordered for the Skins. Washington's defense will get back on track when they face wide eyed quarterback Kellen Clemons. PICK: RedskinsArizona Cardinals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Bucs have lost two straight and it wont be an easy one this Sunday when the Cardinals come to town. Tampa is still the better team and the home turf should be the deciding factor. PICK: BuccaneersSeattle Seahawks at Cleveland Browns I really like Derek Anderson of the Browns. He may be the starting QB for awhile in Cleveland. I still have to go with the Seahawks this week, better team overall. PICK: SeahawksNew England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts I can't wait. It's the battle of the undefeated teams, the two best teams in the NFL. What I do not get is the fact that the defending Super Bowl Champion Colts are at home and are still the underdogs for this game. I know the whole world (well almost) is on the Patriot Bandwagon, but I won't dethrone the Champion until I see the actual results. PICK: ColtsHouston Texans at Oakland Raiders I would rather watch the Home Shopping Network all day. For the sake of making a pick, I'll take the Raiders at home. PICK: RaidersDallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles Tony Romo is now one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league, with only a handful of games under his belt and a playoff loss where he fumbled the snap that would have led to a Cowboy win. I don't get it. Anyway, Dallas is on a roll and Philly has finally lost the dominance they once had over the NFC East. PICK: CowboysBaltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers The Ravens were once one of the most dominant defenses in the NFL. Now that unit looks old and battered. They will be going into Pittsburg to play perhaps the third best team in the AFC. Mike Tomlin has kept the tough smash-mouth Steeler football tradition alive. PICK: Steelers
