{mosimage} We are getting to the time of the year when many of the high school recruits have seen enough and are committing. All world linebacker Brenden Beal issued his verbal to join the Gators. Beal selected Florida over LSU and USC. Beal will join some pretty impressive defensive talent with Florida.Staying with linebackers, Jon Majors surprised me by staying home and verballing to Colorado. Majors is a Scout.com 5 star recruit and selected Colorado over Oklahoma and Wisconsin. QB DC Jefferson was an early verbal to Rutgers. Hailing from Winterpark, Florida, Jefferson recently jumped ship and verballed to LSU. LSU also struck Texas 5 star gold by receiving a verbal from 5 star DE Chancey Aghayere. Aghayere is from Garland, Texas. Alabama received a verbal from safety prospect Robert Lester. Lester is a teammate of 5 star receiver Julio Jones. Jones is being recruited hard by Alabama also. 3 star CB recruit from Miami Krop, Travis Howard verballed to Coach Jim Tressel of the Buckeyes. Howard officially visited for the MSU game a week ago with teammate Etienne Sabino. People in Columbus are awaiting Sabino's decision. 5 Star WR recruit Corey Surrency issued his verbal to FSU. "Soft" West Virginia OG verbal Josh Jenkins is visiting Florida this weekend. Looks like besides West Virginia and OSU, Florida is in the hunt. Jenkins is the Scout.com #1 offensive guard prospect.

| I've actually talked to Josh Jenkins for a while, because he visited Ohio University to talk to his brother Paul Johnson. Jenkins is a mammoth of a man and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He sounded like he already knew where he was going(WVU) but he was just going to let the recruiting process play out for a bit so he could make more visits to other places. That's what I think he's doing. | |

Word on OSU forums is the opposite. He's keeping his OSU intention mum until after football is over. He talks to OSU commit Michael Brewster weekly and they are friends. Brewster is to OSU recruiting what WPeery is to DeathRattle....a recruiting mad man. We'll see. It all depends on who you talk to. When did you talk to him? I obviously have never met the guy. |

It was a while back during spring ball... he was hanging out on the sidelines and I was talking to him and his quarterback... they both had their state title rings and they were there with their coach.... I was just shooting the breeze to him about recruiting and that is what he had to say.. Recruiting is crazy because you can never tell whether or not a guy is leading you on for the fun of it. I've seen that happen before when Dwayne Jarrett was hyping UVA up and talking about how fellow New Jersey native Wali Lundy was "his boy". |

| Yeah so I just went to rivals and checked out one of his highlights... not much needs to be said... he's unreal. Jon Major is the next Jordan Dizon. Probably even better. He's a one-man wrecking crew and while he plays a combination of defensive end and linebacker in high school... I look for him to play LB for the Buffs unless they plan on packing the pounds on the kid, which I think would be a bad move. He's great at both positions, but better at LB. | |
