{mosimage}There was some minor changes in the rankings for this week as once again a bottom feeder got some "nads" and rose up from the throngs of defeat to snatch a victory away. This time it was Colorado State who snapped a 13 game streak including 10 straight conference games with a blow-out win over UNLV 48-23. I am changing things up a bit this week by giving you the teams in "Reverse" order from number 5 to number 1. So here's the new format and tell me what you think of it.
Number 5 - Notre Dame Crying Irish - Blasted their way back into the bottom 5 with the impressive loss at home 38-0 against USC. There record now includes 4 straight home losses which tied a school record, and ran their record to 1-7. USC had 462 yards total offense compared with 165 yards for Notre Dame. Next loss against Navy. Number 4 - Nebraska pea shuckers - Nebraska rolled to a 36-14 loss to Texas A & M. in which they only trailed 16-14 at half time. Coach Bill Callahan couldn't stand the closness of the game though and took over the play calling in the second half that resulted in the final score. Next loss to University of Texas in Austin. Number 3 - Utah State holding strong with a 31-28 squeaker over University of Nevada, next loss against Louisiana Tech. Number 2 - Marshall Bumbling Herd lost a nail-biter to conference rival Southern Mississippi Sunday night 33-24. Next loss will be Saturday at home to Rice. And for the 3rd consecutive week Number 1 Florida International - Lost to Louisiana Monroe 28-14. Extending that streak to an impressive 20 games. Next game at Arkansas oh BOY! Extend that streak. Special mention to the Northern Illinois "Muskies" - Who ran their record to 1-7 with a smashing 44-3 game to the University of Wisconsin. Their single win has come against the University of Idaho rankings by CNN/SI in parthesis (114th) 42-35 and have such impressive losses to juggernauts such as Temple (101st), Eastern Michigan (110th) and Central Michigan (78th) , and Western Michigan (81st). Next up is against Toledo Mud Hens err Rockets. Another impressive loss by Northern Illinois and an upset by one of my bottom feeders could move them into the mix.
