We just read gothamdarkknights article re the the ND/USC game. This
article caused a look back in the article library for a June article
entitled Notre Damefacing a Bumpy Road.
In that article we previewed the openning eight games for Notre Dame. Knowing what ND had lost to graduation and seeing the schedule resulted in our analysis that "Bumpy" would be an accurate description of the ND opening eight schedule. Never did we believe after game eight the Irish would be one and seven. After yesterday's game Coach Weis offered the following warning to college football, "So let me just say people better enjoy it now, have their fun now." Yes Coach, I would admit it has been fun. I would further add Notre Dame needs to fix their run offense and defense or they may never win again. The offensive and defensive yardage figures are as follows: Georgia Tech 258 ND -8 Penn State 164 ND 0 Michigan 289 ND -6 Michigan State 219 ND 117 Boston College 168 ND 27 USC 227 ND 48 Yes, the first eight ND games were interesting, but so are the last four. The Irish have Navy, Air Force, Duke, and Stanford. Prior to the season I would have predicted 4 wins for the Irish in their last four games. At this point, I do not know how many of these games they will win. Do I think they win them all, no. Like Charlie advised , it should be fun.
