{mosimage}Okay, so for those of you following the fun and follies of the fictional Dillon Panthers, here is an episode recap for you. We will break it down for you by story line. Tyra and Landry:

Yes, Tyra (Adrianne Palicki) took pity on Landry (Jesse Plemons) he did commit a homicide for her so naturally a bit of payback was in order. Amazingly enough they seem to be becoming an item, though that homicide thing is not about to go away, and unless they are planning a quick getaway into Mexico, the law will eventually catch up with them. I mean, they did leave the watch at the scene of the crime. Still, good to see Landry score off the football field. Thinking of Tyra might keep him warm at night when the law does catch up to him. Not that Landry didn't want to report the homicide last week, he did, after all his father is a cop. But a look or two from Tyra and that plan went by the waste side. last week and the two ended up together for the night. But hey,

Riggins and Lyla:

Where do you go from an illicit hook-up during the first season? Well, you retreat and reset, "finding God" allows for a start over apparently. Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) whose life is going nowhere fast, as indicated by his constant drinking, decides to follow Lyla (Minka Kelly) into a church service. Church seems to confuse Riggins even more. On the one hand he seems a bit sincere about wanting to change, or so he tells Lyla. On the other hand, is it the spirit he is feeling, or is it a new found love for Lyla? Personally, I don't like the religious angle this plot is taking, mostly cause I don't like them poking fun at religion. There are plenty of TV preachers doing a fine job of making sacred things seem cheesy, this show can't possibly add much to it, or can it?

Julie and the Swede:

They want us to think Julie (Aimee Teegarden) is confused and in the midst of teen angst. Oh please, save it! She is a brat, and maybe her mom slapping her across the face will knock some sense into her, but I doubt it. Of course Julie is going to blame her parents for her latest melodrama, poor misunderstood little girl. This plot can't go anywhere from here. Time to cut bait there Jules.

Matt and the Caregiver:

Okay, the caregiver is not a maid, we got that when she refused to do Matt's (Zach Gilford) laundry, but is she getting sweet on Matt? Probably, and because I am fluent in Spanish, I actually understood the song she was singing. I think I knew the same song as a child, which has nothing to do with the plot. This cross-cultural relationship will slowly develop this year.

Coach Taylor:

Brad Garrity is trying to bring Coach Taylor ( Kyle Chandler) back into the Dillon fold. And sure, after the new screw-up of a coach the Panthers have, it's only fitting. But let's think now, he left his newborn child and wife to go coach at a college four hours away, does he really deserve a second chance? Of course he wants to come back now, because his plot line at he new college is fizzling out, there is nothing left to do with him, unless it's break up his marriage and that is not going to happen.

Panther Football:

The last fifteen minutes of the show, the Panthers actually get to play some football. The team was a mess this week. Smash (Gaius Charles) gets into a fight with Matt at the end of the game, over a coach's call that bypassed Matt all together. Of course, Smash ran in for the winning score. Still, the team is in disarray, and it's prime for a coach Taylor come back.

Next Week:

Damn the previews! I am going to give you the plot lines I hope to see. Landry and Tyra run away from Dillon as "Ode to Billy Joe" plays in the background. Tyra whispers to Landry, "It's okay, I am sure I can get another job at Applebee's in Mexico." Coach Taylor's attempt to come back fails and he ends up working at Garrity Motors. Riggins goes to jail during his trip to Mexico with Street (Jason Proctor), and he is shown boring a few Mexican convicts to death by his talk about Lyla. Bud Garrity bails him and Street out in time for the next game. Smash Williams blows a knee and is humbled.
