{mosimage}These teams almost never get together, but watching them play would be very interesting.
Note: Ohio State already has plans to play the likes of USC, Miami, and Virginia Tech in the future so I didn't include them. Props to them for going out and scheduling tough teams for a change. 5. Tennessee vs. Michigan (home and home series)- Two teams with enormous stadiums, enormous talent, and inconsistent coaching would make for a mammoth home-and-home series. Too bad Michigan signed up to play Notre Dame for the next 20 years or this would finally have a chance of becoming reality. Tennessee blew out Michigan in the Citrus Bowl in 2001 but that Wolverine team was bad and Tennessee should have been in the national title game that year. Plus Michigan has beaten four of their past five SEC opponents in bowls so you know they'd do do well with their current talent. 4. Oregon and West Virginia (home and home) Two teams with unique offenses and great home atmospheres who play on opposite ends of the coast going toe-to-toe in consecutive years sounds fun. 3. Hawaii vs. Texas Tech (in Hawaii to make it as competitve as possible)- Enough with this running-quarterback, option-running stuff, just throw these two teams together at the end of the year and let them fling the ball up and down the field and see how many points they can score.
2. Florida at Wisconsin...in late November- Football is thriving in the south but many people don't realize the game at its essence is meant to be played in cold weather as a test of manhood. On paper this seems like a mismatch in Florida's favor but a power team like Wisconsin just might be able to pummel them at the line of scrimmage in a cold weather environment and win a battle of wills. Remember all the trouble the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had in cold weather games? 1. LSU vs. USC- Go ahead and have this game at a neutral site if you wish; just make it happen. There's some bad blood here over the 2004 championships won by each team and also Les Miles' recent comments about the ease of USC's Pac-10 schedule compared to an SEC schedule.

I agree. Look at what the QB draw did for the Bucks against Miami in 2002. But hey, they spread it out all year and nobody is faster than Ted Gin, who just happened to get hurt. But running up the gut would have alleviated pressure from the DE's. The problem was the power running game did not exist last year, as they decided to just spread things out all year. Beanie was not ready mentally and the O-Line behaved like pretty boys. Even this year, an injured Beanie could spell doom. Plus, I was being sarcastic about the speed thing. |
