So now we have Texas A & M coming into Lincoln this Saturday and if recent trends hold true, the Huskers are "just what the doctor ordered" to fix their ills. The Aggies are coming off a loss to Texas Tech by the score of 35 - 7, but at least that game was in Lubbock, which is not the easiest, friendliest place to play. Unlike where the Aggies will be coming into Saturday, I mean after all, we welcomed in Oklahoma State the past Saturday for homecoming and we gave them a "Big wrapped with a Red Bow" 45-14 victory. So we should be able to take a bit of "hot breathe" off of Dennis Frachione's neck this week, right? (L) I have reached the point where I cannot really offer any positive remarks on 2007 version of the Huskers. They seemed to have given up on the season right after the Ball State game. I don't have any other explanation for the way the team has played the past 2 games, which saw us being outscored 86 to 20 to Missouri and Oklahoma State. 38-25 is the average score in the Huskers last 5 games, the 38 is the opponents score by the way.The Aggies have been playing a little above what I had expected for them this season, with their losses coming at Miami and then at Texas Tech, but very tough places to play. But Coach "Fran" as he is referred to in College Station appears to have worn out his welcome here. His latest "trouble" had to do with charging alumni a fee to get "insider" information on his current team. This did not sit well with the regents and he received some sort of reprimand for it. Losing this game against Nebraska, even though it is a road game would not do his situation any favors, I'm not sure it would do anything either way. For the game comparison the Huskers come in ranked 10th or 11th in scoring, scoring defense, passing, pass defense and then 12th in total defense allowing 524 yards per game in 3 Big 12 games. While A & M is 9th in scoring, but 2nd in team defense points allowed and 7th in total defense. If you want a prediction, I will pick A & M to win by a score of 35 to 13. I did find one interesting quote regarding the Huskers current situation. Here is it. To win big, you need a wealth of resources and revenue, decked-out facilities and a big stadium that is packed beyond capacity seven or eight times a season. You also need strong leadership at the top. Which of those is Nebraska lacking? While in mourning of a season in the midst of utter destruction, I still keep the faith, GBR always.
