{mosimage}How every squad in the league stacks up as training camp is set to begin.
30. Los Angeles Clippers- Elton Brand's ruptured achilles spells doom for troubled franchise yet again. 29. Minnesota Timberwolves- Al Jefferson, Corey Brewer, Randy Foye. Solid building blocks but this project will take a while. 28. Philadelphia 76ers- Thaddeus Young was a good pick for the future, but the future can't get here soon enough. 27. Portland Trail Blazers- Team was built around Oden and now he's gone for the year. 26. Seattle Supersonics- Kevin Durant and Jeff Green will pay dividends later on but '07-'08 will be rough. 25. Indiana Pacers- A series of bad trades have crippled their talent base. 24. Sacramento Kings- Brought back a similar cast back but need to start the rebuilding phase ASAP. 23. Atlanta Hawks- Al Horford will help a lot but Acie Law IV might not be enough of a distributor to solve point guard woes. 22. New York Knicks- Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph might be the worst defensive front-court we've seen in some time. 21. Memphis Grizzlies- Darko Milicic signing is a big gamble but it was worth a shot. 20. Los Angeles Lakers- The roster isn't much different and Kobe is not happy. 19. Charlotte Bobcats- Jason Richardson will help but this team doesn't know how to win yet. 18. New Orleans Hornets- Morris Peterson will fit well with Chris Paul throwing him passes. 17. Orlando Magic- Rashard Lewis signing will prove to be a mistake for such a huge contract. 16. Milwaukee Bucks- The drafting of Yi Jianlin gives hope to the franchise for the future. 15. Toronto Raptors- Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani will be a tough duo to handle in a few years. 14. Washington Wizards- Arenas will need to take the next step and make his teammates better for Washington to win in the playoffs. 13. Denver Nuggets- A.I. and Carmelo experiment won't work unless the Nuggets get more shooters. 12. Golden State Warriors- Finished last season strong and momentum should continue. 11. New Jersey Nets- Jason Kidd is still one of the league's elite point guards as he proved with Team USA. 10. Miami Heat- As long as Wade and Shaq can play, they have a shot in the East. 9. Utah Jazz- Mehmet Okur needs to get his confidence back quickly. 8. Houston Rockets- Good mix of role players and stars but T-Mac and Yao need to prove they can win in the playoffs. They played above their heads last year and made zero changes to the roster, which was a mistake. 6. Boston Celtics- Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen will need help from some unlikely sidekicks to win big this year. 5. Chicago Bulls- Joakim Noah doesn't score a lot but he'll help keep Bulls' defense strong. 4. Detroit Pistons- Young players like Stuckey, Maxiell, and Johnson will help but platooning McDyess and Wallace at center is risky. 3. Dallas Mavericks- Ran into a bad matchup in the playoffs last year but should storm back. 2. Phoenix Suns- Marion's trade demands could hurt them but Nash and company will roll on regardless of what happens. 1. San Antonio Spurs- Is this the year they finally go back-to-back? The odds are in their favor.

Hey Nick, Thanks for the NBA "fix" although I gotta object to the Rockets at number 8. Their biggest upgrade this off season was the removal of Van Gundy and the additional of Addleman. I mean JVG, is probably the "Buddy Ryan" of the NBA in regards to defense and I was hoping for 2 years that they would add a new coach to run the offense and let him be the D-Coordinator, but that doesn't happen in the NBA. I think you will see a remarkable transformation this season, even if they still only finish 3rd in their own division. But when the playoffs come around they will be the most dangerous team out there. |
