{mosimage} Does Marcia Clark have a secret crush on O.J. Simpson? Seriously now, it has been 12 years since the infamous double murder trial in which the former Prosecutor for the State of California lost a battle with Simpson's legal staff. She should have gracefully faded from public view, or at least from anything remotely involving Simpson. Well, except for the book she penned about the famous trial back a decade or so ago.

But here she is again, covering the latest Simpson saga as pseudo reporter for Entertainment Tonight, commenting on the latest guffaw involving the former NFL great. As much as I think that Simpson is the biggest idiot this side of Michael Vick, I am even more disturbed by Clark's new role. Look I can understand an ex-athlete who thinks he is above the law. I can even begin to comprehend one that is dumb enough to get himself busted once again for a stupid act. What I can't understand is a former prosecutor who ended up on the losing in of a +370 day trial, putting herself in a role best served by the latest plastic Barbie turned TV commentator. Though yes, to Marcia's credit, she is sporting a new hairdo since the last time we followed her every move on T.V.

But what can Clark possibly add to this sad little affair? What can she shed light on in this latest Vegas fiasco that Simpson finds himself in? Nothing, that's what. She can add nothing of note. Instead of an objective law professional, she has become part of the same media circus she said she detested back when Simpson was on trial. She is now part of pop culture not to be taken with any degree of seriousness.

Still, I need to sleep better at night. I still need to think that some level of sanity prevails in this crazy world of ours. So to make myself feel better, I have talked myself into believing that Marcia Clark is secretly in love with O.J. Simpson. That some how, in a deep disturbing way, the murder trial brought them together in a spiritual way. It is a bond that Marcia can't resist, so she is back. Perhaps there will be another book in her future. Perhaps it will be a tell all affair in which she brings closure to her mad obsession. Let us hope that is all it is. I would hate to think the circus was in town once again.
