Well we have some MAJOR Shake ups on the fourth week of my Bottom 5 Rankings. Breaking into the bottom 5 is Louisville with a "tasteful" defeat at the hands of perennial weak sister Syracuse. So without any further delay, here is my new Bottom 5 Ranking.
- Notre Dame "cowering Irish" - First time in Notre Dame history these Iris are 0-4 to start the season. Watch for chants of "Bring back Faust". Now I hear that they passed out 70,000 plus white towels. Don't they know that waving a "white flag" is surrendering? Well at least their offense finally scored a touchdown, in fact a "greedy two". Next loss, at Purdue.
- Florida International "yellow cats" - Ran their National leading streak to 15 games in a 55-3 beat-down to the Powerful Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence Kansas on Saturday. They open their conference schedule on the road at 0-4 Middle Tennessee State. Wonder if there are any tickets available for this Titanic showdown?
- Rice "stuffed-owls" - Can you say "powerhouse"? Rice showed up strong Saturday in Austin losing to the Longhorns 58-14. Conference play is next up as they "fly" to Southern Mississippi, who lost to Tennessee on Saturday.
- Temple "owlets" - Increased their record to 0-4 Saturday with a close, tight contest against Bowling Green 48-35. They have a "pick-em" game Saturday against Army.
- Louisville "house of cards" - Showed their true mettle Saturday losing their second straight game at home against Syracuse. Louisville has now given up 35 or more points in 3 straight games. The "cuse" never trailed in this contest and with the 38 points scored, they more than doubled their season total of 32 going into this contest. Next loss, North Carolina State.
