I thought with the current state of affairs going on the first 2 weeks of the season I would start posting a bottom 5 ranking to go with the "normal" top 25 rankings. Now bear in mind that you have to do something pretty "Serious" to be able to crack the bottom 5, but if things keep sinking, I may expand the ranking to at least a top, err there I go again, bottom 10. So without any further hesitation, here are the "bottom feeders".
- Michigan "puppies" - I just can't call them the "wolverines" until they earn that right and escape the bottom 5. They face a "Major test" this Saturday when the battle for number 1 will occur when the fight the "cowering Irish" Michigan has now lost 4 straight games, since only God knows. In fact they have not won since Bo Schembechler passed away. Last Saturday's loss to Oregon was the worst since losing to Ohio State in 1968 50-14. Next up #2 Norte Dame
- Notre Dame "cowering irish" - Charlie Weiss has the Irish were they haven't been since 2001 to start the season, 0-2, with a road trip to Ann Arbor, they could be looking at 0-3, especially since Michigan running back Mike Hart guaranteeing a win. They lost to Joe Paterno's Penn State Saturday by a score of 31-10 and it wasn't really that close as a few Penn State blunders prevented the score from being much worse. Next up #1 Michigan
- Duke "blue angels" - So can they get Coach K to coach the football team? I don't know but with the longest current losing streak in the country 22 games, the "blue angles" are glad that both Michigan and Notre Dame are having such stellar seasons. Next loss - Northwestern
- Florida International "yellow cats" - Extended their 14 game streak on Saturday against Maryland in the Orange Bowl Saturday losing 26-10. Next Loss is the University of Miami.
- Rice "stuffed-owls" - Here's a team that opened the season losing to division 2 Nichols State. Then in week 2 they play Big 12 powerhouse Baylor Bears and make Superman's nemesis" Blake Szymanski look just like superman by allowing him to throw for 412 yards and 6 touchdowns. Next "Blowout" Saturday versus the Texas Tech Red Raiders at Home in Houston.
