Well fans, we are now only 2 days away from an ABC Televised Season opener with one running back, questionable (Cody Glenn) and one coming off a concussion (Marlon Lucky) and a true freshman (Quentin Castille) as the number 2 back according to the depth chart. Gee that's enough to make any true Husker fan just oh so confident about our running back, since last year's workhorse, Brandon Jackson moved on to the NFL.
Castille has put himself in position to pound a couple members of the Wolf Pack."I didn't really think that I'd come in and make this kind of splash," he said. "I'm serious. At the beginning of camp I was really discouraged. I didn't think I was doing good at all."I guess I was." At 6-foot-1, 245 pounds, Castille expects to be used Saturday on "power, up the middle plays," some of which might normally be reserved for junior Cody Glenn, who's fought a hamstring injury throughout fall camp but practiced Wednesday for the second day in a row. Castille thinks his pass blocking is up to snuff, too, but expected Lucky to get all the receiving opportunities. Follow Husker tradition, fifteen Huskers received their Blackshirts before Tuesday's practice, including backups Andre Jones, Phillip Dillard, Lance Brandenburgh and Zack Bowman, who's likely a backup only for now, but I feel will be back as a starter by the start of Big 12 action if not earlier. Since we are so close to the game, I guess I should make a prediction on the game. I look for the game to be tight in the first half, with all the new players on the defense and Keller being tight. But look for the Huskers to get on the Roll in the second half and cruise past a game, but undermanned Wolf Pack squad. Final - Huskers 33, Wolf Pack 17. GBR folks.
