Lamaar Thomas got a chance to say hello to Ohio State receivers coach Darrell Hazell last Friday. Coach Hazell travelled to Maryland basically to say hello & visit with Lamaar's high school coach. Per Thomas, Coach Hazell made it back to Columbus in time for his 1pm receivers meeting. Lamaar expressed appreciation for the effort and the attention.

Thomas is calling his recruitment between OSU, Illinois, and Maryland as even. He has officials set to Maryland 9/15, OSU 9/22, and Illinois 9/29. He is saying a visit to Tennessee may happen on Oct. 6. He still indicates an early October decision.

As we have stated before, OSU is the only school recruiting Thomas as a wide receiver. The rest are recruiting him as a running back. Thomas has said in the past that he didn't care where he plays, now he is admitting to being confused as to what position he wants to play.

OSU "insiders" are still calling this to OSU. We find a couple of things about this interesting. First, Thomas is being recruited as a receiver by OSU and as a running back by Illinois. Thomas is saying that he doesn't know which position he wants to play. Second, the "insiders" referred to above are obviously basing some of what they believe on what other OSU recruits are relaying to them from their contacts with Thomas.

Today it is being reported that Lamaar has an official scheduled to Columbus on 9/22, with an official to Illinios on 9/29. Looking like a 2 team race. Still feeling good about this in Columbus.

Under the category of who the hell knows anything, we are reporting to you the hard news that people are feeling good in Columbus regarding the recruitment of maryland speedster Lamaar Thomas. Listed by Scout.com as a running back, Thomas is being recruited as a receiver.

We still see Illinois, Tennesse, and Maryland as potential problems. Previously the Florida bullett was dodged with Thomas visiting and publicly stating OSU was still in the lead after that visit. Couple of things we note. first of all, some school are recruiting Thomas as a running back, with OSU recruiting Thomas as a WR. Also,probably significant is the presently verballed Buckeyes, and some who have not verballed have developed a relationship with Lamaar. Stay tuned.
