John David Booty put up very good numbers as a junior at USC, has a plethora of talented runningbacks to hand off to and plays with a defense who should be among the best in the nation. Now, this is a recipe for a national title but I'm not sure about a heisman.

The problem is wide receivers Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith have moved on to the NFL. Now it is up to unproven but talented receivers Patrick Turner and Vidal Hazelton to pick up the slack. Also, USC tight end Fred Davis presents an experienced threath over the middle.

Booty may be best served chasing wins, not heisman numbers. After all, that's his best shot at winning it anyways.
