Although not well know, Darius Parrish The 6-foot-3, 325-pound defensive lineman from Wichita, Kan., promised Wednesday to sign a letter of intent with the Huskers, becoming the 19th known member of the 2008 recruiting class. Parrish becomes the fourth player overall and third defender in less than a week to give NU his commitment. Will Compton, a linebacker from Bonne Terre, Mo., gave his pledge on Friday, and Josh Williams and D.J. Woods, a defensive lineman and wide receiver, respectively, committed on Saturday. One of main selling points in Nebraska’s favor was their history of academic all-americans. Darius has a grade-point average of 3.70 and an ACT score of 19, so that will fit in well at Nebraska. Parrish has had to deal with the fact that his high school is not very good, (only 3 wins the past 3 seasons), plus the fact that they have a new head coach. Parrish did not receive a rating from rivals.com, an Internet recruiting site, something Clark said is as much about his team's losing seasons as anything.
