Illinois lands WLB prospect Justin Staples. Scout.com rate Staples as the #18 WLB recruit countrywide. He is a 3 star prospect. Staples selected Illinois over Michigan State and others. Staples hails from Lakewood, Ohio.

Interesting to me is Coach Zook plucked Staples from Ohio wherein one would think Coach Dantonio for MSU would have had an advantage.

Looking at Illini forums, they are very happy with this commitment. A look see at the Spartan forums 2 things stand out. First they were blindsided by this commit, and secondly, mostly apathetic.

The Zook express never stops chugging along on the recruiting trail.
