{mosimage}Well Buckeye fans, another interesting weekend.
We have two more Mooney kids verbally commiting to schools other than OSU. Brandon Beachum has committed to play ball at Penn State. Taylor Hill has committed to play for the Sooners. Neither player had offers from the Buckeyes. By my count these are the 3rd and 4th verbals from the Mooney program to major Division 1 programs, none to the Bucks. Video legend Sam McGuffie has committed to Michigan. Boy that is one that could come back to bite you in the butt. Sam was not offered by the Buckeyes. Many were hoping that McGuffie would attend camp and earn an offer, but he elected not to attend. It has been widely reported that when Devoe Torrence was recruited as a tailback he was told he would be the only tailback in this class. My speculation is the lack of an offer to McGuffie was because of this promise. Again, hopefully this one will not bite us. but a promise is a promise. Allen Wallace of SuperPrep.com is reporting that Pa. native LB/DE Shayne Hale has narrowed his list of schools to OSU, Michigan, West Virginia, and Virginia. Wallace reports OSU to lead for Hale's services. There was no mention in the article re a package deal for himself and HS teammate Cameron Saddler. All the schools on Hale's list have offered Saddler also, except the Buckeyes. Also worthy of a mention is Penn State and Pitt are not in Shayne's final four. Stay tuned.
