NOTE: I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate the most overhyped award by promoting a guy who has not earned the right to be mentioned as a heisman contenter; Chris "Beanie" Wells.

Comment: I expected better and Wells admitted his effort was poor. That's strange to me considering his last game they got blasted by the Florida Gators. Beanie needs to get his game face on.

Ohio State Buckeyes

In Wells first season, he rushed for 576 yards, and 7 tds on just 104 carries. As a true Sophomore, Wells will be the starter and will be relied on heavily as Ohio State looks to break in a first year starting quarterback.

Wells was considered the #1 RB recruit for 2006 by Scout.com and probably the the same with Rivals and tore up the US Army game.

In 2007 he will not win if.....

He fumbles. I'm not sure if he fumbled much in high school, but last year he'd lose it at time when it did not seem he should. His arms being big almost worked agaist him, maybe. He would lose confidence sometimes and would hesitate at the line, not reaching full steam like maybe he could. The most blatant example of this was against UF in the championship game, where he was stuffed after an odd and costly decision by Jim Tressel to go for it on 4th and short (not that it mattered). Blocking schemes and general knowledge he lacked do to little experience. All of this seems fixable, but maybe not in year 2.

In 2007, he will win if...

The monster is unleashed. And the dude is a monster. I dunno, maybe a hint of Hershel Walker in his game, mixed with some ESPN NOW JUICE.

	He definately has a little Hershel Walker in him, but faster. Wells will be in the Heisman short list by the end of September. And Yes there will already be a Heisman short list in September.

	I'm hoping that his carries are relatively limited early in the season-not giving him the ball enough to be a Heisman contender in September. I believe we will need a healthy and fresh Beannie Wells later in the season.
