2008 NJ LB Brendan Beal Height: 6-foot-3 Weight: 228 lbs Forty: 4.65 secs Bench max: 350 pounds Squat max: 475 pounds 2005 stats: 121 tackles, 6 sacks, 1 INT 2006 stats: 151 tackles, 11 sacks, 2 INT's GPA: 4.3 .08/28/07 I see that Jason Higdon of Scout.com is calling this a two team race between Florida & USC, picking Florida. With no linebackers yet in this class I can see this. If recruiting would have ended this early summer, I would have bet on USC. What Jason does not address is whether or not the visit and committment schedule as set forth below remains as is. If so, I would worry about LSU. 08/27/07 Brendan Beal has narrowed his potential schools and scheduled his visits. He will visit as follows: 1. Boston College-9/8 2. Florida-9/15 3. USC-9/22(not officially scheduled) 4. LSU-10/6 Beal plans on announcing his decision on his birthday, 10/12, at the ESPN Zone in New York. Interesting choices here. Beal at one time seemed to be USC bound. To us it appears Florida has complicated the decision. LSU is more than capable of swooping in at the last minute and snatching a recruit. Boston College is where his father played. Guessing is allowed and ours is USC for the limelight. If the depth chart is a concern then we are guessing Florida, but again, LSU is feared in recruiting circles. We think the Boston College legacy ends with the father. | Bill Kurelic certainly knows more than I do, and I read the quotes, but I was under the impression the Buckeyes and Beal mutually are not interested in each other. The internet story is while on campus for an unofficial Beal was there recruiting for USC and something happened between he and a girlfriend of one of the players. Who knows? | |
