7/19/07 Ouch! On 7/18 I said this recruiting stuff was fun. Later on 7/18 recruiting became not fun as Kevin Kroger pulled the trigger not for the Bucks, but for the "Blue". Again, Ouch! No question that the Buckeyes are 9 verbal commitments into a great class. Also, no question that OSU has seen 4 Ohio prospects commit elsewhere. We offered each of them and they passed. Sure, there are reasons each passed on the Bucks. McCarthy on Monday and Kroger on Wednesday makes us 0 for 2 this week.It is also reported that Coach Tressel extended an offer to D J Woods last evening. DJ is being recruited as a corner back by OSU, as a wide receiver or athlete by others. Scout.com ranks Woods as a 3 star prospect & as the 54th best wide receiver prospect. It was earlier thought an offer would wait to see if there is academic progress on Woods part. Apparently summer classes went well for DJ and certainly the pressure on OSU has increased with DJ garnering national interest. Most recently DJ visited and received an offer from Auburn. Also, on the recruiting front, West Virginia verbal commitment Josh Jenkins is visiting OSU with his mother today to see the facilities, the campus, and to have lunch with Coach Tressel. Jenkins is projected as a guard. Stay tuned on this one.
