The Lions made the biggest headline in the 2007 NFL Draft when they snagged college standout Calvin Johnson with their 2nd overall pick. Even though the lions were burned when they drafted Charles Rogers in 2003 and Mike Williams in 2004, grabbing Johnson was the only logical move for them to make. Now Jon Kitna has two explosive weapons in the passing game (Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams) that has the potential to be the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL. Coach Rob Marinelli is trying to change the mindset of the defensive unit by getting rid of players and coaches that he felt did not help the team. Marinelli’s hopes are that he can instill a ferocious attitude into all of his defensive players.
