Safety Anthony Scirrotto and defensive lineman Chris Baker are still awaiting criminal trial scheduled to begin in August. They have been expelled from school from July 1 through the end of the summer semester in mid-August. Suffering the same university expulsion are linebacker Jerome Hayes and cornerback Lydell Sargeant. Although expelled from school, each player is eligible to participate in fall camp commencing in early August. What we do not know is whether or not these four are allowed to use the Penn State facilities during their suspension. These four are required to complete counseling and community service prior to the beginning of fall semester. All four have been put on permanent university probation.

The remaining six unnamed players have also be disciplined by the university. Two have been placed on permanent probation. The other four have been placed on a one year university probation. Each must complete community service, with the two who are on permanent probation must also complete counseling.

Therefore, the University has now done their thing. Scirrotto and Baker are still in the criminal justice system. To our knowledge no cival action has been filed against any of the footballers. Four of the players are expelled, but with be able to be members of the University fooball team and practice while expelled. In my day I would have loved to be able to practice and not go to school.

Can't speak for anybody else, but my eyes will now be on JoPa. What you going to do Joe? Obviously your players did wrong, or at least the University believes they did. Are you satisfied to allow others to discipline your players? We said it before; the legacy of Joe Paterno is much more than total victories. You have a chance to send a message to your present and future players. How is this going to play in your legacy? What you going to do Joe?
